Watch Strap Size Chart and Measuring Instructions
Step 1: Measure Lug Width
- Using a ruler or caliper, measure the width of the space between the lugs of your watch where the strap will attach. This measurement will determine the lug width.
Step 2: Measure Wrist Size
- Wrap a flexible measuring tape or string snugly around your wrist, just below the wrist bone.
- Note the measurement in inches or centimeters.
Step 3: Determine Strap Length
- Measure the distance between the lug ends of your watch to determine the ideal strap length. This measurement should correspond to your wrist size and desired fit.
- For a comfortable fit, add 1,5 to 2 inches (3.5 to 5 centimeters) to your wrist size measurement.

This Shell Cordovan watch strap is made from premium equine leather sourced from top cordovan tanneries known for their long tradition, craftsmanship, and strict quality standards. Shell Cordovan is widely recognized as the “king of leathers” in the world of watch accessories due to its unique structure, durability, and clean aging characteristics.
Unlike calfskin, Shell Cordovan does not form sharp wrinkles or creases. Instead, it develops smooth ripples in bending areas, allowing the strap to maintain a neat, refined appearance even after years of wear. The leather is extremely dense, non-porous, and resistant to stretching and damage around the holes — the first place where most straps fail.
Durability is one of the main advantages of Shell Cordovan. A strap made from this leather can last for decades and often outlives the watch it is worn on. Thanks to its solid fiber structure and deep oil–wax infusion, the material retains its shape and performance under long-term daily use.
Each strap is handmade in Finland using traditional techniques. All steps — cutting, shaping, saddle stitching, and finishing — are done manually in small batches. Shell Cordovan naturally develops a rich, deeper patina over time, without losing its smooth surface or structural stability.
The leather also has a mild self-healing effect: small surface marks can often be reduced or removed by gentle rubbing due to the internal oils moving to the surface when warmed.

- Zermatt calfskin lining — hypoallergenic, extremely smooth, water-resistant, ideal for sensitive skin and everyday use.
- Alcantara 0.8 mm lining — soft, breathable microfiber that adds a comfortable cushion and reduces friction on the wrist.
